Just replaced my router with the Fios G1100 capable of 802.11ac. Very
happy with the speed, no issues with 2.4 and 5gHz access.
My question is looking at the firewall log entries, I noticed numerous
access to port 796 which I never noticed on my old router.
Does anyone knows who is using port 796? I have blocked it for now and
it does not seem to negatively impact the operation. Thanks.

If it was my network I would use Wireshark to answer that question.

I think it's gathering dust somewhere from lack of use. There hasn't
been any need for it lately- that's no fun! :-)
