For 15 years my Verizon bill has been due between the 7th and the 9th of the
month. With no advance notice (other than on the bill itself) Verizon
changed my due date to the first day of the month.

What the Hell !!!

On August 7th Verizon sent me an email saying my account number "will change
on or around August 18, 2018". Nothing at all about bill due date changing.
And no separate email about the bill due date changing.

It seems that Verizon is purposely trying to piss off its customers.

It seems that the bill itself is a perfectly appropriate place to notify
customers that their billing date is changing. You do read your bill
now and again, right?

Verizon isn't trying to piss off its customers any more than it usually
does. It might, however, be attempting to rattle the proverbial cages
of people with nothing better to complain about than adjusting a billing
date for the first time in a decade and a half. If that change is the
biggest problem in your life, I genuinely envy you.
