Hi,

I have Verizon landline service that included Caller ID, DSL for
Internet, etc.

Lately, I received a number of calls from "PA Media News" with
same phone # 610-215-9968. Note: I live in PA.

I tried using "Call Block" according to the CONFUSING instructions
I heard when I pressed *60.

CONFUSING INSTRUCTIONS I HEARD:

"There are no entries on your list. To reject the last calling party,
press #, dial 01, then press # again.

To turn this service on, dial 3. To add, remove, or hear list entries,
dial according to instructions

To hear these instructions, press zero. Please dial now."

I was NOT able to BLOCK that PESKY telephone number.

When I pressed #, then 01, then # again, I heard, "We're sorry,
the number you have dialed is not available with this service"!!!

Any suggestions please?

Thank You in advance, John

UPDATE:

I telephoned Tech Support. The INCOMPETENT agent,
with accent, told me to use *67. I told him that blocks
my telephone number when I make a telephone call.

After he "fumbled around", he finally realized he did
not know what I should do, He transferred me to another department.
The girl with good English told me to try a different procedure and
she will call me back after 5 minutes to find out if it worked.

It did NOT work, but she did call me back about 10 minutes
later. After I told her the procedure did not work, she transferred
me to another department. Another girl, good English, checked
on my account. After a small delay, she told me I need to subscribe
to get this feature. It would add $6.95 to my monthly bill !!!
I told her I am paying almost $100 a month for my current "bundle".
I do NOT want my bill go up in order to get that service.

Before I hung up, I said, "why don't you hear that when you
dial *60?"
