I hope this is the right group. It is about FIOS TV, which is, I think,
an online-service.

1. I can't post to the Verizon forums. Is there something strange
going on there? I get an error message.

2. What I was trying to post is the following:

Subject: Recording by keyword

I’m moving from DIRECTV to FIOS TV. Everything seems to be pretty much
the same except I can’t figure out how to do keyword recordings. For
example, on DTV I have a scheduled recording that appears as

TTITLE FORMULA NNOT PRACTICE QUALIFYING & Sports, Auto

This will record the actual races for Formula 1, Formula E, etc.

I can’t figure out how to do that on FIOS TV. In fact I can’t figure
out how to set up to record anything that isn’t currently scheduled,
like a series that is on hiatus but will come back next year.

Can anybody help me with either?

You can't AFAIK.

You can only pick from the line up you see when you do something like
press the favorites button or such to see the TV guide. You can move
days ahead maybe as much as 10 days but you can't schedule unless you
can pick it and hit the red record button to give you options.

You can make a manual recording for April 10th at 10PM for 2 hours or so
but obviously you have to know that's the date and time for the race.

I've got all the Formula races on my calendar and when they show up on
the calendar within a week or so, I go into the guide and find them and
click record.

Once you get the recording series set, yes, once the show goes on it's
summer off you still keep the recorded 'series' if you made it a series.
However who says it's going to come back in the fall on that date and
that channel and that time? There's another rub in the programming.

Unless you set up NCIS for any time on this channel, first runs only. I
think that's about as broad a series as you can setup. I'm not looking
at the options now so I'm taking it from memory.

That's not good. I guess I will have to learn the titles of all the
racing series I want to record and when the first one occurs. Of course
the series name can change from year-to-year, which doesn't help.

Fortunately, AutoWeek posts most of the schedules and that will help.

No idea what you mean by "online-service".

Without the URL and actual error message, how are we to know?
You should be able to post to the forums.

For recording on the FIOS DVR:

Press DVR button on remote.
Arrow down to Create New Recording.
Arrow to the right to pick Search for Show.
Press OK.
In the alphabet widget start selecting letters in the show title until
you see the title you want.
Then arrow right and down to select the show you want.
Select the channel you want to record from.
From there you'll find options to record one showing or a series.

Did you try a different browser, or the same browser in safe/incognito
mode? And for future reference, saying that you got an error message
without including it in the post is almost as bad as saying "it doesn't
work". Neither is a good problem description, especially when you're
asking for help fixing it.
